About Patricia
My journey into coaching began in the 1990s when I regularly attended a personal development programme called MindStore. This opened my eyes to the power of positive thinking, creating exciting goals and challenging self-limiting beliefs. It helped me evaluate where I was and where I wanted to go in life. I started setting goals in my professional and personal lives and when I achieved them, I set different and bigger goals. I felt more in control of my life and I took inspiration from others and their stories of success.
Although I loved my job as a business partner in a thriving GP practice, I realised that my own development and future lay in supporting others. I also wanted a more flexible working life to have time off when I wanted to. I took a leap of faith and left my GP practice in 2005 to establish an HR and practice management consultancy practice. Fortunately, I never looked back and although I missed the colleagues from my practice, I enjoyed the freedom and opportunities of working independently. Since then I have worked with hundreds of GP practices all over the country providing HR services and facilitating meetings, as well as delivering numerous training courses in managing people and in personal development. I have talked at national and regional conferences and written articles for professional journals about managing people and teams.
I trained as a coach as it was something which I felt drawn to and it fits so well with the other skills I have developed. I have been inspired by the people I have coached over the years and it has been a privilege to walk along with them on their journey. Coaching has been the conduit - but they have set the direction and made the changes. I know how powerful coaching can be and what can be achieved.
I offer coaching professionally, particularly to clinicians and non-clinicians in leadership roles, and I also offer voluntary coaching to disadvantaged people through not-for-profit organisations.
